Used up

I am ready to be "used up" for Jesus. At my age I know that my time is short on this earth so I am determined to give more, do more and care more than ever before. I want my fuel gauge to show that I emptied myself in the "living" of this life.

9-16-2015      Luke 11:37-40
S.       37 And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. 38 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner. 39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
O.      Jesus teaches about traditions.
A.      Jesus did not condemn the traditions of the Pharisees; he revealed the values that they were missing. Often our traditions are not completely Christ centered. I will examine all my traditions to be sure that they are.

P.       Father; give me the wisdom to evaluate all my traditions. Help me to improve or remove each one to keep Christ in the center of all I do. Amen.

I am Loved!

I am in awe of my Lord Jesus Christ. He went to the cross to die in my place. He never told a lie, broke his word, stole a meal, hurt his friends.......he never sinned. I stand amazed at his love for me, unmerited, undeserved and unlovable man I was, Jesus choose to be my salvation. He paid a price that I could never pay.......just because he loves me.

9-11-2015      Luke 11:23

S.       23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

O.      Jesus sets strict lines of division.

A.      I want to be with Jesus in every matter. I choose to make him my Lord, Saviour and King. I will resist the devil and all his army of evil.

P.       Father; anoint me with your Grace for power to overcome my enemies. Teach me how to love the sinner and hate the sin. Amen.

Accountability

I depend on my fellow Christians. Their prayers, encouragement, fellowship and love carry me along on life's journey. I always have a friend to lean on, caring ears to listen to my problems, strong arms to lift when I fall and prayers to help me find the way. My church is a family to me. When a Family is very large it is impossible to interact with them all or even know them all. I have many cousins that I have never even meant on the larger side of my natural family. Unity should be a goal for every church. God's people, pulling together can do mighty works and at the same time aid each other along the journey.

3-11-2015      Romans 10:11-13

S.       11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

O.      Walls of social and political division are eliminated to those that believe.

A.      I see all Christians as one people no matter their nationality. Salvation unites us as one people.

    P.       Father; help me teach the unity of believers by living and preaching a good example. Amen.

Big Churches or small churches?

Bigger is not always better. In our effort to build God's kingdom (the church) we have made many mistakes. The worst mistake of all is taking place now. Growing churches using a flawed model will lead to flawed churches. God's model always works so why change? We do not need bigger churches. We need smaller churches.........many, many more smaller churches. More on this subject in the days to come.......the Lord willing.

3-10-2015      Romans 10:1-4

S.       1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

O.      Israel’s efforts to be righteous, based on their interpretation of God’s law, has fallen short and so God replaced his first law with Grace.

A.      I will walk in God’s Grace and not dishonor the sacrifice made for me on Calvary. I will obey God’s word and submit to the Holy Spirit in whatever way he will lead.

    P.       Father; teach me the path of righteousness, the words, thoughts and deeds of holiness.                        Amen.

Angry

I am angry today! Angry about all the suffering I see around me. I am declaring WAR! I know that many of my suffering friends are not worthy of the pain and difficulty s that they are in. It must be the attack of satan. God's word tells me that I have authority over him. Sound the trumpet, assemble the army, set the strategy and let's march into the camp of the enemy and take back the things that are already ours; HEALING, PROSPERITY, JOY, PEACE, FELLOWSHIP AND POWER!

3-3-2015         Romans 8:35-39

S.       35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

O.      Paul’s declaration about the strength of God’s love.

A.      I must not worry and doubt. God will love me and keep me and go with me through every trial and test of life.

    P.       Father; thank you for loving me, even before I ever knew you. Amen.

Time for Business!

Church business meeting today at four o'clock. We will look back on 2014 and evaluate the results, have some sweet fellowship and rejoice in all that the Lord has done. We may plan some goals for the remainder of this year as well. 2014 was a year of plenty and today we will see more proof of just how good our God is to his children.

S.O.A.P.

2-21-2015      Romans 8:10-11

S.       10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

O.      The body will be brought under subjection (dead to sin) by the power of the Spirit.

A.      First I must believe, then, respond by faith into a sinless lifestyle empowered by the Holy Spirit. I am no longer a slave to the appetites of my flesh but victory only comes by the indwelling of the Spirit.

   P.       Father; please help me to eradicate all un-belief from my heart and mind. Amen.

Redefining God???

With all the terrible things going on in this world today a person could get pretty scared. I hear about fear on a daily basis. Fear of Isis, fear of our president and his christian hating ways, fear of the health care laws, fear of guns, fear of environmental changes, fear, fear, fear!
The thing that alarms me the most: People redefining God. I see people chasing sin, embracing sin one minute and the next they are talking faith and love of God. Pure and contaminated do not flow from the same source. How do these people live with the imbalance, the contradiction?  Easy......just redefine God. God is removed as the creator, the sovereign judge and perfect and then redefined into some sort of heavenly bell-hop filling orders for any and all who speak his name in a positive manner.
Awake or perish for when the blind lead, the ditch becomes your home.

S.O.A.P.

2-17-2015      Romans 7:22-25

S.       22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

O.      The battle with sin as fought with the mind (under the law) is always lost.

A.      Paul paints a very dim picture of spiritual life when lived under law. He is building up a contrast to describe how the law was incomplete and needed to be improved. I will remember my past as a reminder of where I came from. I came out from under the law and into the Power of Grace.

P.       Father; I know that my flesh is weak and that without your help I will fail. Fill me with the power of your Grace, the guidance of your Holy Spirit and the joy of holy fellowship. Amen.

My favorite day of the week!

Sunday morning is a happy time. Church, worship, fellowship and a slowed down day, what could be better? Hope to see you at Elm Grove today.

S.O.A.P.

1-18-2015      Romans 5:1-2

S.       1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

O.      A right stand with God is obtained through faith in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. This brings joy and hope.

A.      Jesus gave his life for me on the cross. I ask for forgiveness of my sin based on that death. I live in hope and with great joy, knowing that I am his and he is mine.

P.       Father; I accept your gift of love even though I am unworthy. I give you my life, use me as you will. Amen.

Jesus will return!

Was Jesus a real person? Was he born of a virgin? Did he live a sinless life? Did he die on a Cross? Was he resurrected on the third day? Is he going to return? To each question I say yes! Each Sunday I gather together with others that believe the same as I do, we call it church. I like church. I worship, fellowship, preach and pray, receive encouragement, hug and enjoy my relationship with God and my fellow Christians. I don't enjoy everything that happens on Sunday, or should I say "doesn't happen". Each Sunday I look around and I notice empty seats, empty because so many Christians have stopped going to service. The reason I mention this today is because of the last question asked in the beginning of this post. "Is he going to return?" Jesus will return!  And according to the Bible he is coming to "catch away his church (bride)" and begin judgement upon those left behind. Please come to service today, come and let's prepare to welcome the return of Jesus.

S.O.A.P.

1-11-2015       Romans 3:5-8

S.       5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) 6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? 7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? 8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? Whose damnation is just!

O.      No sin will ever be justified; no amount of wrong is tolerated because of a good outcome. God treats all sin in the same manner.

A.      God hates sin, so I must hate sin, all sin, mine and that of others.

    P.       Father; teach me how to hate sin and never hate the sinner. Teach me true forgiveness that I                may forgive as you forgive. Amen.

Romans

Trouble, trials and a stretching of our faith on this first day of the new year. Both daughters in hospital and wife and I are trying to cover all the needs as well as possible. Nancy spent the night with Christi and for the first time in our 46 years of married life we were apart on new years eve. Roads may be icing over and we need to get back and forth. We will find out if I can still drive in bad weather. Pray protecting Angels over me Please. God gave us a wonderful "Last" service at church last night, sweet spirit and many wonderful testimonies on last years blessings.
Blessed New Year and welcome 2015!

S.O.A.P.

1-1-2015              Romans 1:1-7

S.       1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

O.      Paul’s salutation to the Saints at Rome and his declaration of Jesus the Christ.

A.      Paul speaks of several important aspects in this salutation: He identifies Jesus in all his power and glory, declares peace to his readers and calls them saints. I need to remember every day that I am in Jesus. I am not a looser, a failure, a sinner; I am a holy follower of Jesus Christ, an overcomer. I am a saint, made so by the cleansing blood of Calvary.

P.       Father; cleans my memories of the stain of sin. Renew a right spirit within me and reveal the mind of Christ to me. Amen.

Christmas Shopping

The best part of Christmas is the extra time I have with my Wife and family. Shopping wears me out but the fun is worth it. My new diet has changed many of our normal Christmas shopping eating rituals, but not many more days and I will be able to try some different foods. Gideon has been over helping me with some of my heavier chores (chopping wood, stacking and cleanup) and I was able to teach him how to change his own oil. I am so proud of my family and how they help each other out....and do it with love.

S.O.A.P.

12-20-2014    Mark 14:22-26

S.       22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

O.      Jesus shares the last Passover supper with his disciples.

A.      Jesus is always here to share with me, in good times and bad, in ease and hardship, in plenty and want. Jesus is the constant in my life. He never changes, he is always the same. I am not worthy in myself, I am made worthy by his sacrifice and love.

P.       Father; I give you my all, mind, heart and soul. Thank you Lord that I am never alone. Amen.

Shopping with my Sweetheart!

I spent the day yesterday with my wife out Christmas shopping. For almost forty seven years we have never missed doing this together, and I still feel like I'm on a date with the most beautiful woman on earth. Oh what fun and joy being together. God is good to me!

S.O.A.P.

12-17-2014    Mark 14:10-11

S.       10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.11 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

O.      The worst betrayal of all time.

A.      I must never betray Jesus. I must fight sin (first my own) and never let satan deceive me with temporal merchandise. All sin is a betrayal of the Lord’s gift given on Calvary. I hate sin.

P.       Father; I invite your Holy Spirit, I welcome your Holy Spirit, to the end that He may reveal, expose and declare all my sin, sin of commission and sin of omission. I seek to be pure, holy and blameless before you. Come sweet Spirit. Amen.

The Lord's Day

Blessed day at Elm Grove yesterday. Several seeking the Baptism in the Holy Ghost. Great teaching on; The Glory of God. My Christmas sermon on "A God of Power" was well received. My strength is coming back, I felt no weakness or fatigue at all while preaching. God is good.

S.O.A.P. (two days)

12-14-2014    Mark 13: 23-32

S.       23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

O.      Jesus tells his disciples of the end times, of the signs and that only God knows the exact day.

A.      This day will come and I must be prepared. I must share the gospel message with as many people as possible.

P.       Father; time is short and many have not heard the gospel. My heart is heavy for those who are sleeping in a false security, having heard the words of love and turning back to the old ways of sin. Give me wisdom and compassion to represent you in all I do and say. Amen.

12-15-2014    Mark 13: 33-37

S.       33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

O.     A warning: be ready for the Lord’s return.

A.      To stay ready I must avoid sin, read the word, pray and serve my fellow man. To this I will add fellowshipping, worship and intimate time with my Lord. I must decrease, that he might increase.

P.       Father; teach me all the ways of righteousness that my life may be pleasing in your sight. Amen.

Funerals

My friend Buddy will be laid to rest today. I have ministered to five generations of this family and I have been so blessed by each one. This is a large family that is spread all across America with a strong Christian heritage. God, bless these friends on this difficult day and give me words of comfort for each of them.

S.O.A.P.

12-12-2014    Mark 13: 12-20

S.       12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

O.      End time attitudes towards believers will be filled with hate. Families will betray each other and God will shorten the days because of his mercy.

A.      I will keep my eyes on the Lord no matter how I am treated by those around me. Christ is my reward, I will trust
          in him.

P.       Father; fill me with love, even for those who hate me. Amen.

The Future

I am glad that I don't know all the details of the future. I might try to avoid many things that God has planned for me to experience. I have found that life has many unpleasant days. I am not calling these days bad or wrong because my faith has taught me to expect God to be with me and help me through. Thanks be to God that he gives warning and direction about the major future events, like heaven and hell.

12-9-2014      Mark 13:1-2

S.       1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! 2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

O.      Jesus prophesies of the destruction of Solomon’s Temple.

A.      I must heed God’s prophesy and build my life accordingly. God foretells of his plans that I may be ready and not be caught off guard. God does this because of his great love for me.

      P.       Father; Thank you Lord for warning and preparing me for future events. Thank you for your mercy, grace and                     love. Amen.

Shine on

10-5-2014      Mark 4:21-23
S.       21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
O.      There is no reason to hide the light……the truths of God.
A.      I must not be ashamed to proclaim my faith to others. I will speak up and “let my light shine” for Jesus. Light is stronger than darkness.

P.       Father; shine through me; shine your love, mercy, grace and peace. Love through me and be my light. Amen.

Healing

8-30-2014      Acts 28:7-10

S.       7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

O.      God heals through Paul’s hand in the house of Publius. Upon departing this house the people shared with the shipwreck victims the things that they needed to travel.

A.      In every circumstance we should be the hand of God extended. Even when our need is great and our troubles come we should be concerned about those around us.

P.       Father; teach me humility and use me in ministry. Heal through my hands and lift the burdens from the shoulders of the suffering. Amen.

Listen to God!

8-27-2014      Acts 27:9-37

S.       9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands strake sail, and so were driven.18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.32Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

O.      The journey is filled with danger and hardship. God gives Paul knowledge; if all the people stay together, none shall die. The sailors and soldiers do all within their human strength to overcome the terrible storm and save the ship.

A.      Humans will go to great length to make things turn out the way they want them to go. Trusting God is seldom the direction taken. We must first believe in God as the “only true source” of help and direction. Then we must listen to his direction and obey his voice.

P.       Father; speak to me from your word and declare your will. Direct me by your Holy Spirit in all matters of life, both great and small. Amen.

Ordinary Days?

8-26-2014           Acts 27:1-8

S.       1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

O.      Paul’s final leg of his journey to Rome begins under Julius, a understanding and fair, centurion.

A.      These were long weary days of difficult travel. Changing ships often, uncomfortable lodgings and many schedule disruptions. No great miracles or events are mentioned, just ordinary life and struggles. We must face days like these often and keep our faith strong and our joy intact. God is the God of the ordinary day just as he is in the day of miracles.

P.       Father; Keep me strong and encouraged through the ordinary days of life. Help me to show your joy to others and be an example of a happy servant. Amen.

8-24-2014      Acts 26:24-29

S.       24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

O.      Festus thinks Paul to be out of his mind (mad) and Agrippa is almost persuaded to become a Christian.

A.      Some will reject and some will accept the message of faith in God. We must tell, tell and re-tell so that many can be saved. Time is short. The lost are many. The workers are so few. We must not be self-centered, looking after our own needs only; we must spread the good news to the lost.

P.       Father; Open our eyes and let us see how few are ready to stand at your Judgment Seat. Stir our souls with a passion for the lost and dyeing. Use us Lord while there is time. Amen.
