A coat of Paint

Today is painting day. A coat of paint in the guest house bathroom will use up my energy, satisfy my exercise needs and move me one step closer to completing this long project. Spring is coming and I need to finish to free-up garden time.

S.O.A.P.

2-19-2015      Romans 8:3-4

S.       3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

O.      Jesus conquers sin and overcomes sin “in the flesh” by living a Spirit filled life.

A.      The Spirit of God is given to man to overcome sin. If I live by the Spirit I will not sin, I will fulfill the Law and prove its righteousness, I will honor the sacrifice made by Jesus on the cross and “be” a holy person.

   P.       Father; fill me totally with your Spirit. May I decrease and be absorbed by your Spirit until I             am a complete reflection of Jesus.

Retirement....To Be Or Not To Be

New directions in life are just ahead for me. I have retired from my secular employment and will be able to devote more time to the ministry and to my beautiful wife and family. I plan on doing some traveling in my old car. My end may be nearer than before but I plan on enjoying every last day.

12-10-2014    Mark 13:3-8

S.       3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

O.      Jesus tells of the end of time and the attitude that his followers should have about it.

A.      I shall not fear the end of time. I am diligently following all that I have learned about faith in Jesus Christ. I am open and seeking a better understanding and relationship with God. I will not live in fear!

P.       Father; I want to know you as much, as deeply, as is possible while I am confined in this human shell. Draw me nearer to you this day and fill me completely. Amen.
